Fitness Nutrition Supplements UK
Gary Jones,
athletics aged 31
My sport is athletics and my event is the 100/200 Meters. I have a personal best of 10.60 and 21.57 respectively.
I started taking
Herbalife products in July 2003. Like a lot of
athletics sportsmen who take
Herbalife the results were pretty quick and I knew something positive was happening to my body. I had taken various sports supplements over the years and like a lot of athletes would follow the latest ‘fad’ supplement or company that everybody was talking about!
However, none of these supplements could have been much good as I would never take them for very long as any positive results gained would be counter-acted by a negative response, like water retention, feeling bloated, cramping, weight gain etc. Then there was the cloudy shadow that you could fail a drugs test as some products were getting cross-contaminated with illegal substances. I regrettably saw a friend of mind and a high level British Olympic athlete fall into this trap and the overall re-percussions were devastating.
However, I wasn’t prepared to think all supplements were bad as I knew in order to compete at a high level, good nutritional supplements were here to stay. You just had to do your research and make an educated decision based on the facts. I started to look at other alternatives and I found herbal life. I like the way company talked about nutrition and it all made such perfect common sense and was simple to follow. Herbal life were also able to provide the quality assurance required.
I initially took Formula 1 with the additional
protein powder, plus F2, 3 and Thermo Beverage. I took
Schizandra and
Roseox for recovery and
Herbalifeline for my heart/CV system and joints and Cell Activator which was like the insurance policy to ensure I was absorbing all the good nutrition . Initially, my training partners were sceptical thinking anything with herbs was a bit lightweight! Sportsmen/women do tend to think they know it all when it comes to sports nutrition but the fact is many only know as much as the normal average person in the street!
However , it was not long before my performances on the track had improved with actually less training!.
I had lost some body fat and yet maintained all my lean muscle mass. My power to weight ratio, very important in sprinting, had improved as I was lighter but actually stronger in the gym. Suddenly people were saying I looked healthy, which seemed strange for an athlete who trained 6 x per week. Was I not healthy before then I was thinking ?
It was not before long and people in my circle of influence were just asking me how they got hold of the products!
After the athletic season finished, I completed an SAS survival course for 6 days for charity and even though I could not have any shakes, I took my tablets ( hidden in my rucksack !) and every one else was struggling with muscle soreness and cramp apart from me!. My every levels were also un-believable and I could not believe how aerobically fit I was for a Sprinter during an endurance event !! To me this really was proof that they worked as my body was being pushed to it‘s absolute limits using a different energy system my body was not used too!
I would recommend
Herbalife products for athletics
sport nutrition wanting to get the most out of their potential. Herbal life gives you a definite edge as it maintains your weight and keeps your body fat at the correct levels required. How many boxers or runners struggle with this alone?? It also gives you amazing recovery with hardly any muscle soreness after even the hardest training sessions.
Toufic Machnouk,
running - sprinter
I am a sprinter from west London. I've been on the products since feb.03 the products I take are
Formula 1,
Formula 2, Schizandra plus,
Male Factor 1000,
NRG,
Herbalifeline, thermo bev,
as recommended by Heather Livingstone for athletics sport
nutrition. I have a shake in the morning each day and after training sessions and the other products just as they are recommended to be taken! I am also going to try thermo complete now after hearing its testimonial yesterday. Summer season 2002. My personal best for the 100m was 11.7s summer season 2003. My Personal best is now 11.0s. For those who don’t know much about the 100m sprint. 0.7 of a seconds makes the world of a difference!
Now I was training relatively hard ( which you would need to do to progress in any event ) however the products really came at the right time because I had torn my Quad muscle and they help me recover quickly and still progress despite the setback! they also helped me stop throwing up which was a hard thing for me! being on the schizandra, herbalifeline and thermo bev I believe is what helped me over come that!
Robert T Golly- 61-year old Gold Medal winner
running and long jump
A friend of Major Robert T Golly introduced him to Herbalife and "it was like a breakthrough for me". Bob took off 7kg and began to' burn up the track' . "Within 6 months I have bettered the U.S.Master's Standard of Excellence in the 100 meters and the long jump".
Dr Hale - 400m running
Dr Hale is always on the run. An infectious disease specialist, she is also training for the 2000 Olympics. Along with her medical practice, Dr Hale maintains a rigorous training schedule for her speciality, the 400 metre race.
"I noticed a difference right away. I used to be so hungry all the time, but using the nutritional programme, I noticed I was feeling full. I didn't crave things from the bakery. I didn't need to lose weight by was able to decrease my body fat."
Dr Hale's time in the 400 metre race went from 56 seconds to 52 seconds in under 12 months ... an incredible improvement of over 7%. She also suffers from fewer aches and pains, a change she attributes to having better nutrition than ever before.
